Posted on

Viktor Hovland is a Norwegian golfer who is still in the early days of his career but has already attracted the limelight of the media as a potential future star. Hovland turned pro in 2019 and already became a familiar name in PGA and European Tours. Today, we will talk about Viktor Hovland’s net worth and career.

Viktor Hovland’s Net Worth – $6 million

After tasting success in several amateur tournaments, Viktor decided to take the next step in becoming a professional. He added the first PGA Tour win under his belt when he won the Puerto Rico Open in 2020. Later that year, he took his PGA Tour tally to two.

Viktor Hovland’s net worth in 2022 is believed to be north of the $6 million mark. He has amassed most of his net worth from his already successful golf career. Hovland is still in the infancy of his career. In the coming days, his net worth is expected to inflate significantly. In the 2022 Money List, Hovland ranks 8th with $1,543,781.

Viktor won nearly $2 million in his first major earnings of the 2019 season. To date, he has earned the most from the Mayakoba Golf Classic Series, where he had bagged $1.2 million.

In 2019, PING offered a lucrative multi-year deal to Viktor Hovland. Viktor will use at least 11 PING clubs in his round, including a driver and putter. He will also wear PING’s logo on his shirts and caps. You will also see him carrying a PING Tour staff bag.

Early Life

Harald Hovland and Galina Hovland welcomed their only child Viktor on September 18, 1997. The Hovland’s are Norwegians, and Viktor was born in Oslo, Norway. But shortly after Viktor’s birth, the Hovland’s moved to the US as Harold got the opportunity to work in an American company. Viktor’s mother, Galina, was a housewife. The family settled in Oklahoma.

Viktor began playing golf at 11 after his father gifted him a club. He played at high school level, and after graduation, he landed an athletic scholarship to Oklahoma State University

Viktor shot to fame after winning the Norwegian Amateur Golf Championship. In 2018, he became the first Norwegian-American to claim the US Amateur Championship.

Viktor Hovland Cars

Viktor Hovland owns a Lexus RC F, and he loves driving it. In 2020, Viktor traveled more than 4,000 miles across the US, driving his Lexus RC F to attend tournaments.

The 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine in the Lexus RC F produces 351kW at 7100rpm and 530Nm between 4800 and 6600rpm. A Torsen limited-slip differential and an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission with steering-mounted paddle shifters and Launch Control send power to the rear axle — the first Lexus to do so since the famed LFA supercar.

The Lexus RC F will set you off more than $65,000.

What’s In The Bag?

Victor Hovland carries a Ping G425 LST driver at the top of the bag, which he deploys with great success in the course. In 2021, he experimented with longer drivers to get greater distance. For instance, he’s tried Ping G425 LST variants with 47-inch and 48-inch driver shafts.

Viktor swings a TaylorMade SIM fairway club and a Ping G425 Max seven-wood. We can confirm the SIM has a 15-degree loft, but the actual loft of the G425 Max wood has not been disclosed officially. We can tell you for sure that it boasts an ultra-modern graphite build.

Viktor has switched to the Ping i210, moving away from the Titleist U505 Utility iron and the Ping i59’s. They range in length from a four-iron to a pitching wedge. In windy conditions, Viktor pulls off a sublime move with his i210s and makes the balls fly a little lower.

Other than the putter, he shortens all of his clubs by a quarter-inch and improves the lofts by 0.5 degrees. Shortening the clubs curtails spin, but moving the lofts up enhances ball speed, resulting in a lower ball flight.

His arsenal also includes two Ping Glide Forged Pro wedges, respectively, at 50 and 56 degrees. A 60 degree Titleist Vokey SM8 WedgeWorks is the last wedge in the bag.

Before changing to the Ping PLD DS 72, he used a TaylorMade TP Black Copper Mullen 2 DB SS putter and a Ping Sigma 2 Wolverine H. In an interview with Golf.com, Viktor said he loves the milled insert of his new putter as it helps him hit at higher speed with better accuracy.

In 2021, Viktor Hovland started to use Titleist PRO V1 balls.

“I’ve really liked it at tournaments just when I’ve been chipping around greens. I feel like I’m still able to launch the ball up in the air a little bit while getting that spin. And so then I was entering the testing process with the mindset of, ‘OK, I like it around the greens. Let’s see how it performs with irons and the driver.’ And for me, it didn’t do that much differently (than prior generation), which is a good thing because I liked where the spins were at, the launch angles, and the overall feel of it. So if it’s very, very similar with all those shots, but I feel like it performs better around the greens, I felt like it was a good decision just to start playing it.”

Viktor Hovland Girlfriend

Viktor Hovland is currently single. His sexual orientation is unknown since he has never been seen to share intimate moments with anyone in public. Viktor is an active social media user but never posted anything about his romantic life.

In September 2021, he attended the gala dinner for Ryder Cup’s Team Europe alone while his teammates brought their partners. When the photo session time came, though, his teammates’ spouses wouldn’t let him go it alone.

Angela Akins and Emma Lofgren, better halves of Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson, respectively, posed for a shot, appearing to kiss the Norwegian on his cheek. Viktor Hovland had a radiant smile on his face as the photo was snapped.

Final Remarks

Viktor Hovland’s net worth will skyrocket in the next few years as he approaches his prime years as a golfer. He has bagged two PGA Tour titles before celebrating his 25th birthday, so there is enough reason for golf fans to anticipate more success from the young Norwegian.
